
Cyber security has become a national priority issue for all countries in the world, including in Indonesia. Its because the level of information and communication technology utilization is increasingly in various aspects of the life of the people, nation and state, including aspects of law, organization, economy, health, education, culture, security, defense and other aspects. Compared directly with the level of utilization of information and communication technology, the level of threats that can occur is also higher and more complex.
Cybersecurity is the main foundation for safeguarding national sovereignty and growth in the digital era. Through the synergy of all stakeholders, BSSN builds an adaptive, inclusive, and visionary strategy to create a secure, reliable, and competitive cyberspace.
To support and create a strategic environment and to creat a safe, reliable and trusted national electronic system, promote and grow the digital economy by enhancing cyber competitiveness and innovation, and building awareness and sensitivity to national security and resilience in a good cyber space. Indonesian Government through Presidential Regulation Number 53 of 2017 and amendment number 133 of 2017 established the State Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) that one of its main role is to implement cyber security effectively and efficiently by utilizing, developing and consolidating all elements related to security national cyber. In order to provide a strategic reference of cybersecurity policy, BSSN prepares the Indonesian Cyber Security Strategy.
Indonesian Cyber Security Strategy has been drafted into 5 principles: Sovereignty, Independence, Security, Togetherness and Adaptive. Based on this principles, it is expected to achieve the Strategic Objectives of Cyber Resilience, Public Service Security, Cyber Law Enforcement, Cyber Security Culture and Cyber Security in Digital Economy in order to realize the Vision of Cyber Security Strategy:
Establish and maintain national cyber security by synergizing various stakeholders to participate in realizing national security and increasing national economic growth.
This document can be used as a reference for national cyber security policy and its application to support of nation and state development and build trust and peace in International Fora.
